For those authors who are concerned with their work (both text and cover art) being used to train ai models and LLMs, I have put together a text based on discussion with the community over on the Indie Book Spotlight discord server that iterates the rights of the author to their work. It essentially states that the author needs to give express permission to anyone wanting to use the text or cover in training ai programs, as well as the assurance that ai has not been used in the creation of either the text or the cover.

Feel free to copy and paste this into your own copyright page, or to manipulate it as you see fit. It is free for anyone who wants to use it. Enjoy!

No part of this text or cover design may be reproduced, transmitted, downloaded, decompiled, reverse-engineered, or stored in or introduced into any database for the purpose of training any model to generate text, including without limitation, technologies capable of generating works in the same style or genre without the author’s express permission to do so. The distributor from which this text was obtained does not retain the right to sublicense, reproduce, or use this text or cover design for the purpose of training such generative text or art platforms without the author’s express permission.

This text is the sole product of the author’s imagination and creativity and has not knowingly been influenced by the assistance of or generated by the use of generative text commonly referred to as artificial intelligence or large language model. The cover art is likewise the product of the creativity of the artist listed below and has not been knowingly influenced by, or generated in part or in whole by any generative imagery algorithm.

This is a work of fiction. All of the characters, organizations, and events portrayed in this novel are either products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. No part of this book has been aided by the addition or use of artificial intelligence either in the writing of the text or the design of the cover. The ‘artificial intelligence free’ mark is a free-to-use badge originally created by Conrad Altmann.

That last part is only if you want to use the mark on the other post here. But don’t feel the need to call me out if you don’t want to, but still want to use the mark.
